Part 2 (1:03 hours) provides a brief overview of clinical and experimental research on dissociative disorders, including definitions, prevalence and causes of the disorders. Major models of dissociative disorders are briefly outlined, as are the controversies in this area of mental health care and some evidence against prevalent controversies.
This workshop is intended for professional development for mental health practitioners who offer therapeutic interventions for people with trauma. It assumes knowledge of clinical skills, working with complex clinical presentations, and therapy for trauma.
